TexPIRG Education Fund Staff
Melissa Cubria is the Director of the Texas Public Interest Research Group (TexPIRG) Education Fund where she oversees the organization’s programmatic work on transportation, health care, and tax and budget policy. Melissa recently graduated from DePaul University College of Law. During law school, Melissa was a law clerk for both the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to attending law school, Melissa spent four years as a policy analyst for TexPIRG Education Fund. In that role, she worked with diverse coalitions that spanned the political spectrum and became a leading exert on road privatization in Texas. Melissa began her career as a Health Policy Advocate with the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law in Chicago before coming to TexPIRG Education Fund in 2008. Melissa has both a Bachelors in Arts and Sciences and a Juris Doctor. She lives in Austin.
